KAB has partnered with a recycling company called CMR (Corporate Mobile Recycling), who recycle mobile phones for the developing world, and also recycle printer ink cartridges.

A staggering 15 million mobile phones will be bought from shops this year and 12 million of these will ultimately end up in people’s drawers, cupboards or the bin within the next three years.

Rather than having unwanted handsets languishing in drawers or dustbins, KAB wants YOU to turn your unwanted mobile phones into practical donations to KAB.

Search under the stairs, behind the sofa and in desk drawers to help us to collect as many unwanted mobile phones as possible. Every handset we receive and recycle is worth, on average, £6 to KAB.

We can also recycle used printer ink cartridges. According to current statistics, only 5% of empty printer cartridges are being recycled - this means that 95% of these items are simply discarded and end up in landfill sites. With it taking up to 100 years for the plastics in the cartridge to decompose in landfill sites, the environmental benefits of recycling is clear.

KAB can supply you with freepost recycling envelopes in which to send your phones or cartridges or we can arrange for a courier to collect the items, if you have more than 20 items. This is a ‘free’ service offered to KAB and our supporters, financed by CMR.
