Karen joined KAB in February 2007. KAB's Trustees delegate day-to-day responsibility for running the charity to the Chief Executive, so Karen is responsible for KAB's strategy, finances, policy, and service delivery and development. She has over 20 years experience of voluntary sector management, mainly gained with disability charities.
Head of Human Resources
Vanessa joined KAB in July 2002 having worked in Human Resources for The Independent, The Independent on Sunday and Marie Curie Cancer Care. Vanessa is responsible for all areas of KAB recruitment, performance management, organisational policies and training on personnel issues.
Head of Finance
Jen has been with KAB since August 2007 and has responsibility for the financial controls and the day-to-day running of the finance department. Jen is a qualified chartered accountant, having trained in audit with Pricewaterhouse Coopers and later moving on to a number of different charities.
Head of Fundraising
Amanda Croft-Pearman joined KAB as Head of Fundraising in 2014. She brings a wealth of fundraising experience to the team having previously worked at NSPCC, the Royal School for Deaf Children in Margate and most recently as Chief Operating Officer at Oracle Cancer Trust which is based at The Royal Marsden Hospital.
Rehab Operations Manager
Katherine joined KAB in April 2011 and has responsiblility for the day to day running of the six rehabilitation teams across Kent, Bromley and Medway. She also leads on specific projects such as the Peer Support Programme. Prior to KAB Katherine worked in Service Management for Barnardo’s.
Guide Communicator Service Manager
Kay first joined KAB as a Guide Communicator in 2002 and worked as a GC for 5 years. After a short break from KAB, she re-joined in 2009 as a Senior Guide Communicator and was promoted to Service Manager in 2011. Before joining KAB, Kay taught Deaf Awareness and BSL for 9 years.
Avril joined KAB in April 2005. She has academic responsibility for the Foundation Degree in Rehabilitation and is Internal Verifier for our accredited Open College Network (OCN) Sensory Impairment courses. Avril is a qualified teacher and gained her experience managing programmes and teaching within Adult Education.
Digital Production Manager
Marten is responsible for the running our Talking Newspapers and Transcription services, supported by 11 teams of volunteers across the county. Marten has more than 20 years experience in audio production and is a regular contributor to professional audio forums and magazines.
