KAB's Sight Centres in Maidstone, Bromley and Canterbury each have Resource Rooms that stock a wide range of demonstration equipment. Trained staff are available to show you what's available and explain how to use it. They can also give you information on where to purchase equipment.

KAB Rehab Teams organise regular public exhibitions around the region for suppliers and manufacturers to exhibit specialist equipment and products for people with sight impairments. You can try out products for yourself and keep up to date with the latest advances in technology. KAB rehab teams are also present to give you on the spot advice and help.

Before you buy a piece of equipment

• Check with your local KAB office first for advice on the best equipment to meet your individual needs

• You may be eligible for free equipment if you meet certain criteria set down by the local authority. KAB can carry out an assessment of your needs to see if you qualify, and if you do we can provide the equipment free on long-term loan.

• We also urge you to get advice so that you can learn the safe way to use gadgets and gizmos, avoid injury, and get the most from the equipment
