The information contained in the Benefits section of our website was correct when we published it in January 2010. However, please be aware that the current Government may decide to introduce changes to the rules and entitlements for some benefits. October 2010.
In order to be eligible to apply for some benefits, you don't have to be registered severely sight impaired/blind or sight impaired/partially sighted. However, whilst registration is voluntary, it can sometimes support your application for benefits.
The information that follows sets out the main benefits that are available as well as some of the key eligibility criteria. However, full details of benefits, including current rates, can be found on RNIB's website.
