KAB Peer Support Programme
| Date: | The programme will run every Monday from 11th June to 9th July 2012, with a reunion session later (date to be confirmed). |

This is an opportunity to join a small group of peers to reflect on the emotional and social impact of living with a long-term condition, such as sight impairment. The programme is about identifying and sharing skills and tools to help manage the impact, based on the self -management techniques you will learn.
The programme includes topics such as; Communication, emotions, healthy eating and fitness, setting action plans and short-term goals, pacing, relaxation and much more. It is also an opportunity to share experiences with others, find out about support and have some fun. |

Cascade Big Dance 2012

| Details: | This is a unique and exciting opportunity for people with a visual impairment in conjunction with Kent based company Cascade Dance. You are invited to take part, free of charge, in weekly creative dance workshops with the aim to create a performance piece to be shared with friends and family. The project is open to all ages 11 years +, and all abilities, no experience is necessary to take part. This project offers specially designed activities to develop confidence in dance, movement memory, stability, flexibility and creativity.
If dance is something you are curious about then I do encourage you to come and have a go! Don't worry if you’ve never done anything like this before, to get acquainted with each other and to find out more, we will be running the first taster workshop and meeting on Friday 8 June and we’d love to see you there! Do please get in touch with me as soon as possible so I can add your name to the list. Please wear comfortable clothing and indoor trainers and bring a bottle of water with you. This project is part of the wider programme of Big Dance 2012, celebrating dance through mass participation. |

Focus on Sight 2012 Exhibition (Tonbridge)

| Details: | As well comprehensive displays of all the latest in gadgets, access technology and equipment and services available for people with sight impairments there will be presentations on Macular Disease, Raising Awareness for Care Professionals and Gadgets and Gizmos focussing on Ipads and Iphones.
We are working in partnership with Guide Dogs and Hi Kent for this exhibition so there will also be the opportunity to try harness walking with a Guide Dog, have your hearing aid tested or repaired and attend hearing aid and loop system demonstrations. Refreshments will be available on site and the centre is a comfortable 10 minute walk from Tonbridge Rail Station or 5 minutes walk from Tonbridge High Street! There is no need to book for any of the sessions mentioned above. |
