Planning your fundraising event

Decide on your event: whatever you decide to do, you (and those taking part in the event with you) need to think about what you would really enjoy doing. Remember: the more fun you have the more money you'll raise. So be sure you choose something you really enjoy doing!

Plan your event: start by making a list of everything you'll need in the way of people and equipment. Work out the tasks to be done and divide them up.

The money: work out how much you think you could raise, but also work out how much you think you'll need to spend on the event. Remember, it's the profit you're after!

Publicise your event: try to make sure as many people as possible know about what you're doing; if they don't know about it, they can't support you!

Let KAB know of your plan so that we can support you in whatever way we can (in some events there are certain legal requirements that have to be complied with)

After the event has taken place, collect your money: however you've raised it, ensure that it is clearly labelled and shows any expenditure as well as income. You should give this to KAB with your cheque

Finally, don't forget to thank all those who supported you!
