Make A Donation
The success of our work depends on the generosity of our supporters who make donations to ensure our services can develop and reach everyone who needs them.
Last year donations from people and from community groups raised an astonishing £65,000. But an ageing population means the demand for our services increases every year. To fund this increase we need to raise more money.
You can make your donation either online or by post or telephone or by text.
What could my donation provide?
Whether it's £10 or £100, your support will make a real difference to the lives of sight impaired people in Kent, Medway, Bromley and Bexley.
£10 can provide travelling expenses for a volunteer befriender to support a sight impaired person in their own home and wider community.
£25 helps pay for hall hire costs for one of our social and activity groups.
£45 helps fund one of our weekly local editions of our digital Talking News service which benefits elderly and isolated people and helps them stay in touch with their local news and events.
£80 can help fund two hours computer tuition. Computers that have been made accessible for sight impaired people have the potential to transform lives and can enable someone to access their own correspondence for the first time in their life.
£100 will pay for 1,000 leaflets to recruit more KAB volunteers. The leaflets would be displayed in volunteer centres, in local libraries, and in shops and local amenities. Last year, KAB's 900 volunteers gave 38,000 hours of their time. Their work meant that hundreds of sight impaired people were more mobile, more independent, safer and happier.
£250 will pay for an art and craft day for sight impaired children, including hire of the hall and cost of materials and tuition. Isolation is the one of the biggest risks facing children with a serious sight impairment. These events give children the opportunity to develop a sense of well-being and confidence that, in later life, leads to accomplishment and achievement.
