Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care (Visual Impairment Rehabilitation)

This innovative Foundation Degree, the first of its kind when it was set-up in 2005, is managed and delivered in collaboration with Canterbury Christ Church University.
The degree provides an opportunity for people who are already working with sight impaired people, in a paid or voluntary capacity, to train as Rehabilitation Workers in visual impairment and to work towards a full degree in health and social care whilst remaining in employment.

Accredited short courses

These one day, Open College Network accredited courses are suitable for those who want to learn about sight or hearing impairments and how people with these impairments cope with daily living.
They have been designed for front-line staff, educators, health and social care workers, students, volunteers or anyone with an interest in sensory impairment.

Sight impairment awareness training
- Have you wondered what it's like having reduced vision?
- Are you nervous about assisting someone who has a sight impairment?
- Are the needs of sight impaired people met by your business?
A non-accredited course that delivers highly relevant awareness training for anyone who works with people who have sight impairments. The half-day training will cover the causes and effects of the six main eye conditions together with practical, hands-on experience under simulation, including how to guide someone safely.
