The first course of its kind, the degree is the only programme in the UK that demands that students be already working in a relevant field. The result is that the course attracts students of the highest calibre.
Students come from a variety of backgrounds including schools, specialist units for sight impaired children, charities and Social Service departments.
"The integration of theory and work-based practice on this specialist route sets an excellent example that other programmes would do well to follow. The provision of a dedicated workplace mentor having a role within the programme team provides a particularly good level of support and guidance to students ..."
