Recycling for KAB
We all know it's important to recycle, but did you know that by doing this, you can also raise funds for our work?
Last year we raised over £1775 just from recycling!
Whether you're a business or an individual you can send us:
- Used postage stamps
- Foreign coins
Additionally, Ink Cartridges and Toner cartridges can be recycled via Takeback
We are aware that the Charity Commission have issued warnings to charities who are inadvertently enabling stamp fraud through the collecting and recycling of used stamps. We know that collecting stamps for KAB is one of the ways that people choose to support our work; in the last six months, we raised over £500 from stamps alone. All the stamps which are donated to KAB are picked up by a collector who has been associated with the charity for over 10 years – he provides us with a donation for the weight and variety of stamps provided.
The Charity Commission have offered advice to charities about how to protect themselves from stamp fraud and we are following their suggestions which includes checking that our charity name is not being used online in conjunction with ‘Kiloware’ sales. We are not aware of any instances of this occurring but we do ask that if you come across any, to please let our fundraising team know. We will of course monitor the situation and continue to review our policy on recycling stamps.
If you would like a collection box for stamps or coins or have any queries about our recycling opportunities please contact KAB’s fundraising team
KAB is registered with the Fundraising Regulator and we are committed to the highest standards of professional fundraising practice.
