Inclusive communities

We can support businesses, carers and other organisations to be more inclusive of people with a sight or hearing impairment.

We do this through training, environmental assessments, website checks and transcription.

Training

We can give your staff teams training in understanding sight impairment, hearing impairment and deafblindness. We can also provide training on the range of assistive technologies available.

Environmental Assessments

We can come to your place of work, venue or business, to give recommendations on how you can be more accessible to people with a sight impairment.

Transcription

We can translate your documents into accessible formats, such as Braille, large print or audio.

Website checks

Using different software, such as screen readers, we can check your website to make it more accessible. We will give you recommendations of how you can improve your website, as well as other marketing literature.

KAB has provided us with audio files for our easy read patient experience feedback surveys. Louise has a lovely, clear voice and the audio files have proved to be a huge success in helping us to gain valuable feedback from our patients with learning disabilities, sensory impairments or those who don’t speak English as their first language. An incredible and efficient service, Louise has always responded to requests for new transcriptions so quickly.
